MSKB Article Q281119 says that to fix the problem that I’m having I have to buy their time and therefore the subject dll from them – why should I pay for something that they have messed up aflame ??? Does anyone know how I can get a copy of the dll to correct my problems? Running IE 5.5 on NT4 SP 5a.

Here’s a site that I found in a Lockergnome article that is supposed to be a .dll warehouse of sorts. I havn’t checked it out yet (thankfully, no need to), but it may be of use to you.

Thanks Dave, but the dll there is older than the one that I already have. I suppose that I’ll have to bite the bullet and give M$ what they demand puke for the corrected version of THEIR mistake!

You never explained what *their* mistake was, so it’s a little hard to offer any suggestions. I’ve never had a problem getting Microsoft to replace software that was damaged or missing.

I’m not saying that the software is damaged or missing – it just does not work the way it is supposed to…i.e. When dynamic content is generated by a Web server and it is returned by using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Content-Disposition: Attachment header, you receive an Open dialog box. If you choose the Save As option, Internet Explorer prompts you with the file name and program type, but the file name is the name of the referrer document and the contents are the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code instead of the file name that is indicated in the header and the contents that were dynamically generated and returned from the server.

Granted I do have some work-arounds…But these steps are just another point where human intervention can, and usually does, introduce errors.
