How do i use vbscript to instantiate the bloomin’ Chart? I’ve tried the CreateObject with a variety of things, none of which work. I’ve tried including the object clsid.

Recommend any substitutes for MSChart?

Hi Peter,

I’ve never heard of using the MSChart component in an ASP situation. I think I found why: MSKB Q240339.

I know that Cold Fusion has a charting component that is supposed to be fabulous, although I haven’t used it either.

Don’t give up so easily on your dream!

Just because Microsoft says it’s not a good idea doesn’t mean that it’s impossible! Check this article from one of my favorite ASP sites, http://www.4guysfromrolla.com[/url%5D. (Besides, maybe Microsoft is lying about that also! I find it hard to trust anything they say… )

If this doesn’t work for you, and assuming Cold Fusion isn’t available for you, I’m sure there are plenty of other charting component packages out there. I doubt they’ll be free, but I”m sure you can find one that will work for you.

The 4guys article is client side, whereas i am tryna do server side.

I gave up on MSChart when i found the words “not supported as of” in the KB article. But I still have the dream!!!! I’ll find something that works ~ one of the web mags had a few listed.
