MS Word 2000 SP3 – Print Preview problem

I have created a template for an A3 document using the same margins as the default for the A4 Normal.dot template. On closing the Page Setup dialogue a message appears offering to fix the margins. Selecting this option results in the margins being increased such that in Print Preview the page is displayed with the content cropped to A4.

Is this behaviour due to my A4 printers? I haven’t tried disconnecting them yet – but I wonder if they are the cause. Can anyone assist me with this problem please?

Printing of the A3 document is to be done commercially and a preview before printing is, at the least, desirable.

You could install the driver for an A3 printer; that would allow you to set page size to A3.

The minimum margins are set by your printer driver. If you are intending to print this page on an A3 printer then the best approach would probably be to install the drivers for the target printer and set that as your default.

One approach I have used is to set my default printer to be an Acrobat printer, set to the correct page size.
