Does anyone know a way to get a copy of SR-1 or 1a for Office Pro 2000? I had a backup copy, but it is corrupted and since MS doesn’t have it anymore, I wondered whether it might be available elsewhere. I have SP2 and 3. I read some of the older posts and they didn’t seem to know where to go either. Just checking to see if there are any current sources. Thanks

      How about here?

      Hi Rebel,

The link you gave points to the SR1 installer stub, but the file it points to no longer exists; neither does the admin update package for which that page provides a (non-existent) link.

Ken: Your best option is to find someone who has the SR1A update, or an SR1A or later copy of Office 2000, which you could then use to do the updates (using your own product key, of course). Alternatively, if you’ve got old PC magazines from 2003, or so, with cover CDs, you might find a copy of the SR1/1A update on those.

      Cheers,

Interestingly enough, I can download from that link, but I get this message when trying to install “Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 did not complete successfully. For assistance call Microsoft Tech Support, and then See the log file, Office 2000 SR-1 Setup.txt
But when I went to the MS Tech Support link, it only had support for Office 2010, at least that was all I could see. So I guess the MS link is corrupted so as not to allow it to work.

Ken Hess might like that. Thank you for your kind offer Lee, i’ve to (somewhere) have a copy of the free Microsoft disk containing SP2 and Sp3, at the moment I’m kind of homeless and what few processions i have are scared about. But many thanks for your offer
          thanks Lee

SP3 includes SP2, but you will need SR1a before being able to install either of the others … and just let me know if/when you might yet need a copy.

Robert, thanks for the link, I will try that. Lee, if you are willing, I would appreciate if you could email me 1a and 2, I have 3 on CD. My email is builder50@gmail.com if you could just send each as an attachment, it would be great. Thanks to everyone for great ideas.

You are most welcome, and it feels good to find some of my older stuff actually useful to someone else!
