      You can easily fix the iOS 18.2 mail count inconsisentency.

      Settings -> Notifications -> Mail

      Customize notifications

      Then pick all unread messages instead of primary.

      If you don’t like the contact photos in the app, those can also be turned off.

      Settings -> Apps -> Mail

      Scroll to message list section

      Toggle off “Show Contact Photos”

      The only thing  out of the ordinary the update did to my consumer  windows 10 .  It changed my solid color background to a picture.  I changed it back.

      BTW, the comment link on the main article say’s not found.

      The link @CADesertRat is talking about is the one outlined in red in the screenshot below. The link simply goes to askwoody.com/FORUMLINK, which results in the 404 Not Found error.Alert-link-needs-fixing

      Just updated for December and had the same experience as @CADesertRat…smooth as silk, only getting “stuck” at the usual points of 22, 44, 73 and 74 percent done, but for less time at each point than usual. Also, not a hint of any CoPilot things anywhere on the taskbar, nor the Start menu! Also no change to my desktop background slideshow that I brought with me from Windows 7, the six different landscapes from around the U.S.. Also, there was NO servicing stack update installed this month, either! This is on a Windows 10 Pro machine.

      I don’t have a MS login, just a local account, so maybe that’s why I had no changes to the desktop, Start menu, nor the taskbar.

      EDIT to add: @CADesertRat , the link you reported above is now fixed!  🙂  👍

        Also, there was NO servicing stack update installed this month, either! This is on a Windows 10 Pro machine.

        The service pack number listed in KB5048652’s bulletin is the same one listed in November’s monthly update released on November 12th (KB5046613), 19045.5071. So, although there’s a servicing stack update listed in this month’s update bulletin, it’s the same as the one released last month.

          True, and in view installed updates it shows that the SSU installed in Nov.Installed-updates

      A fake window popped up on my Windows 10 and it was GREEN rather than the usual BLUE. I didn’t click on it, but nothing else in the background was able to unfreeze. So I pulled the plug and after a minute I plugged back in and there it was as before. Then the screen started rolling and breaking up like an old TV, then it all crashed and I haven’t been able to start it up since. My Dell Optiplex is completely destroyed by this virus. I am writing this on my mac mini. Happy New Year.— Jeff

        Jeff, you haven’t provided much for us to go on.

        What was the message in the “fake window”?
        What did you install / view / download recently?
        You could have a hardware issue.
        If you have an image backup you can restore in about 15 minutes.

        cheers, Paul
