Is that assonance? Anyway, Patch Tuesday’s tomorrow, and today’s a very good day to make sure you have Win10 version 1903 or later set to Pause Update

I am on Windows 10 1809 and don’t seem to have to Pause Updates. I think this is why.

      Metered Connection is on
Quality Updates set to 30 days
Feature Updates set to 365 days

I love it because I never get Cumulative Updates. I have to manually download and install the updates.

Based on Pausing Updates Dec 2019, something may happen July 19, 2020; we will see next month. Otherwise these 3 OSes get their last Cumulative Updates November 2020 which is OK by me.

Because of my settings, I may be on some long term support version (a guess on my part). I run 3 versions of Windows 10 1809: 64-bit Pro, 32-bit Pro and 32-bit Home.

Just thought of something else. Windows MiniTool has a setting to disabled Windows Updates; That may be why I don’t get updates.

THANK goodness we’re back at DEFCON TWO (2)… this geezer got really worried when he saw 4 …perhaps having  2 decimal places…like..maybe two point zero one or one point nine nine ought to be considered to help deal with frequency of change & how fast and how severe the changes..all questionable…are occurring from Microsoft. Especially the possible corruption of Space X LINUX as MS make every effort to be involved or influence anything not MS.

Are we not overdue for some investigation from the SEC, FBI, CIA or somebody familiar with Polygraphs, Voice prints, Verbal or Facial expression analysis (remember LIE TO ME tech) to realize that MS has a FIDUCIARY DUTY not to keep unnecessarily updating, interfering and wasting so much of it’s customers’ valuable time?

C’mon MS you once were WONDERFUL AND I LOVED YOU even worked a temp job for you and LOVED IT back in tough Windows 95  days….Prayers coming your way!! :)…but Woody…THANK YOU & SUSAN B. SO MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK TENACITY AND COURAGE…KEEP IT UP   &   BLESS YOU AND YOUR TEAM!!

      SINCERELY,
      JD WIGGINS

If would be helpful to make some changes to MS-DEFCON, like multiple entries :
      MS-DEFCON 2 : June 2020
      MS-DEFCON 2 : May 2020 (2004) Feature
      MS-DEFCON 4 : May 2020

This is clearly a dejavu comment.

This continued problem with MS updates, after several years, just encourages Windows-7 users to remain with Windows-7.  For those of us with minimal needs and requirements, and practice safe Internet surfing, Windows-7 is working just fine.  Why MS chose to burden Windows-10 with needless complexity in its “base” OS is an unanswered question.

I’m on 2004 and I have updates paused till July 13th (I only upgraded to 2004 when I did to fix the windows store and doing so did fix it)

Does pausing updates also pause the daily MSE virus definitions aswell, or will they continue to be updated even with a pause on?

      It doesn’t pause definition updates.

My drive images from Sunday, June 7, are safely stored away so I can turn back the clock should that become necessary.  It never is, but I’m always ready.  Driver updates blocked via Group Policy, Windows Update set for automatic download.

I’ll post my results, as always.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
