Something I’ve noticed in my business environment; I’ve had several devices that I was not able to update to Win10 22H2 in the background via my RMM software. I discovered on each of those devices when I went to Settings and checked for updates, the prompt to upgrade to Win11 was blocking the install of 22H2. Once I declined Win11, I was immediately prompted to download and install 22H2.

I’m sticking to Win 10 pro until the bitter end. It has a surplus of zillions of features that I never use and behaves brilliantly with my Photography apps Photoshop, Lightroom, OnOne, Topaz, and DxO. I don’t need more feature bloat, so only the security patches are important to me.

Susan, are you recommending 22H2 for consumers and home users only or for business users as well?

      • #2571529

Business as well, but W10 only.

        cheers, Paul

          And W11 for home users:

For those of you with Windows 11 machines, I am now recommending 22H2 for Home and Consumer machines. … As long as you are a nice, normal, ordinary Windows user, you should be fine with upgrading to Windows 11 22H2. …But act now, because I want you to update to 22H2 between now and next Monday.

What can we do if we are not being offered Win 11 22H2.  I am currently on Win 11 22H1.  I had In Control set to Win 11 22 H1 but I changed that after reading this post this morning.  Still not being offered 22 H2.

I have re-started several time and done “Check for Updates” several times.

Both Home and Business IF you have nice normal Windows use – no games, no overclocking.

Shouldn’t the title on the site’s main page and on this page read “Last Call for 21H2″?

      • #2571611

No, because it’s the last call to get feature releases installed prior to 7/10.  After that date I’ll want you to pause and wait until later in the month.

      Read through this thread 22h2-update.

Thanks for the link to that other thread.  I have done everything mentioned in that thread I think.  It has been about 6 or 7 hours since I made the change.  Guess I’ll just have to wait a bit longer.

Strange.  After waiting for awhile longer and not getting offered 22H2, I decided to try something.  I “released control” in In Control and was immediately offered 22H2 which I then installed.  It appears that In Control was keeping me from being offered 22H2 despite having In Control set to Windows 11 22H2.

Or Windows finally decided to check for updates….

I did check for updates several times.  That didn’t work.  Only when I released In Control did it work and it did so immediately.
