It appears that there will be at least 2 more beta releases of Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware. The first one will be mainly to extend the beta-expiration date from July 31st to December 31st and will probably be released in the next few days (It has already been released to some testers).

The second update, Beta 2, will be released some time later this year containing some updates to the program.

Has anyone noticed whether the “scheduling offset of two days” bug has been fixed in the updated beta? The one where, if you wanted the scan to run automatically on Monday morning, you had to set the scan to run, apparently, on Wednesday morning?

      Thanks

        John,

No, I’ve pretty much left the default scheduling alone. But I’ve noticed that there appears to be a problem with updating the definitions on some machines once the latest version is installed. It appears to update from 5725 or 5727 to 5729. But if you re-boot or re-start MSAS the updater thinks you still need to get 5729. This has been reported in several threads on the MSAS newsgroup.

        John,
Think you’ll find that that particular bug has been fixed. I previously had my auto schedule set for Sunday to ensure it kicked in on the Friday. Following Beta update MSAS ran its auto scan on the Sunday and caught me by suprise!! I’ve now reset the auto scan to reflect the actual day I want it to run rather than the ‘day minus two’ routine.
