I’ve recently updated MS AntiSpyWare (the full beta update) and now it can’t find an internet connection when I’m using Firefox. It always did before. Now I have to open IE6 or use UserAgentSwitch on Firefox to fool Antispyware into thinking it’s in IE6.

Does anyone else have this problem or have I missed a system tweak?

Have you checked the on-line newsgroups (Help | Support Newsgroups on the Web)? Do you get an error message? Have you changed anything else such as firewall software, router, etc.? It is possible that you’ve just found out why it is BETA.

No, I don’t have this problem with this beta release. However, when I first installed in April this happened to me also. Since it works with IE open, I guess you have the correct controls set in your firewall, i.e. the file(s) that do need internet contact?

For me, that time, the problem disappeared shortly after. Don’t know why.

        It’s back to normal now.

Thanks for both of your responses. It seems, Argus, that it may be a little temperamental when first updated.
