I have a Freecom DVB-T USB stick to record digital television and radio from my tv to my laptop. Works very well

I recorded a radio programme and the file size is huge and will not play on my MP3 player so I need to convert it to MP3.

Anyone know of freeware conversion software they could recommend.

    Regards

A bit confused here. MPG is video and MP3 is audio. What file type is saved from the radio broadcast?

I know that the typical video output format for these devices in MPEG2. Maybe some hints here: Compress mpeg2 to fit dvd – SnapStream Forums.

Maybe SUPER © might help with the required conversions.

        Dear Alan

Because the radio broadcast is picked up via my digital TV, Freecom (TotalMedia software) records it as if it were video out put which is MPG.

(I don’t stream and record radio from the internet as I don’t have broadband and I don’t have a digital radio as I pick it up through the television, there is no need to purchase one.)

Have a look at Audacity: Features. It is free. It is difficult to tell for sure if it will recognize your file as an audio file without just trying it.
