I am trying to get some MP3 files of some seminars to my wife’s IPad. I was able to get it transferred when it was attached to an email, but because it was over 25mb, I had to run it through Google. Then she had to set up a Google account and then open it in her Yahoo account in Google. There must be a less convoluted way. These MP3 files are from 35 to 50mb each. Any ideas would be appreciated.

AskWoody MVPJanuary 1, 2016 at 5:22 pm #1544560You could import into iTunes library on the PC then connect iPad to iTunes on PC and sync from the PC to the iPad.
However, it’s much quicker to use OneDrive, Google Drive or DropBox – all available for both PC and iPad.
As a test, I’ve just copied a 62 Mb MP3 file into Google Drive on my PC, waited for it to sync then opened it on my iPad using the Google Drive app. It played perfectly and the whole operation was quick and painless.

AskWoody_MVPJanuary 1, 2016 at 5:51 pm #1544563This is what I use with my Tablet and Dell Venue 8 Win10 to transfer files from my other machines, useful when there’s no standard size USB port:

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 2, 2016 at 7:08 pm #1544617I have one question, although I guess I won’t know until she tries the upload, whether she has to have a log in. We are on a home network, but I have never been able to see her IPad, nor can she see my laptop. The network works well as far as the internet is concerned. i have set up a Home network, but something seems to be missing in the process.

AskWoody MVPJanuary 3, 2016 at 5:05 am #1544688I have one question… whether she has to have a log in.
There are two ways of doing it:
1. If she logs into the Google Drive app on her iPad using the same Google account as you then she will see whatever you copy into the Google Drive on your PC without any restrictions. This is by far the easiest method.
2. If she doesn’t log into the Google Drive app on her iPad using the same Google account as you then you will have to share the folder/file(s) with her using her email address. This isn’t particularly complex – see this help file for how to – but adds a level of complexity that I doubt you need.
Unless there are very good reasons not to then, personally, I would use the first method. (Having said that, I actually use method 2 so I can let my brother and sister have access to – for example – my Dad’s health info in a folder shared with them whilst keeping my personal info in a non-shared folder.)
Hope this helps…
