I have some MP3 files where the portion of interest consists of approximately the middle third of the file. Can anyone point me toward an app which will allow cropping of MP3 files?

I go along with Peter on this one! The AVS product line is not free but well worth the subscription price for “membership” as it entitles you to download any and ALL of their software. I presently have five or six of their apps on my system and use them regularly.

I did indeed, and went to all the trouble to make it conform to the (I thought) hitherto standard format to make it clickable. (I did it earlier today in a different thread as well.)

Is this a new feature, or something old that I have missed?

Until today I have successfully used LINK to create a link. I have tried (test area) that and another unsuccessfully, and would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with an example of the exact form that I should follow.

You have to provide the full URL, including http://. This is more strict than the previous version. So http://www.wopr.com remains text, but http://www.wopr.com becomes a clickable link.

Audacity is good but is overkill for simple editing like cropping and cutting bits from an MP3. I use also the freeware MP3 DirectCut. Loads fast and does all I need. Also saves the file without recoding so there is no loss of quality… You can find it at: http://mpesch3.de1.cc/ (also home to the very simple and fast 1by1 MP3 player)…
