moving linked files

We have a lot of worksheets that have links to other worksheets. The plan is to move all the worksheets to a new server. The discussion now is about the links:
will they re-link automatically? When I try the scenario, the links will not re-link. When some other people in the group move the source and target files to another location the links seem to re-link.
I am going crazy!!
Can somebody tell me please if I am right and no re-linking happens?

Hi itconc,

Provided the shortest path between the linked files remains the same, there shouldn’t be any problem. For example, suppose the current structure has a file in:
Server1UsersGeeksDocumentsSystemAccounts
linked to a file in:
Server1UsersGeeksDocumentsAdminAccounts

then a change to:
Server2UsersExecutiveGeeksDocumentsSystemAccounts
and:
Server2UsersExecutiveGeeksDocumentsAdminAccounts

should still work, as the shortest path is still from:
DocumentsSystemAccounts
to:
DocumentsAdminAccounts
