Is there a way I can create a rule to move or color all email from people actually in my contact folder at the time the email arrives? I realise I can create a rule, and put everybody’s address in the From: field, but then, if I later add a contact to my contact folder, I need to update the rule. Does this make sense? What I’m trying to do is color all genuine email from people I know (ie in my contact folder) so I can quickly skip over the spam.

You could create a distribution list that contains everyone in your contact folder. Then create a rule that moves mail from people in a distribution list.

Thanks, that’s what I will do. However, if I then add someone else to my contact list later (which happens all the time), do I need to manually add them to the Distribution List? I would think so… It’s a pity there isn’t a rule that says “If email comes from *anyone* in my contact list, then do blah blah blah”

I agree there should be something like that. I figure if you were a programming genius, that you could figure out how to automate it, but alas, I am certainly not that. Good luck with it.
