I am trying to set up a backup system for a number (88) of occasionally accessed folders, some frequently. I have been experimenting with Symlink and have been able to see that it does get the job done. I have one folder in my Onedrive Folder that is linked to one target folder. That, in turn, has three of the folders that contain files that I want to protect.  I have proved the concept by showing that I can modify any file in that group and it gets backed up to Onedrive. I can’t prove it, but I suspect all of the files and folders are replaced in this case.. My concern if I proceed in that manner, ie. one linked folder, then if I update just one file in one of those many folders, everything will sync. Alternately, I could link <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>each</span> target folder with a Symlink into the Onedrive folder and any file in whatever folder is changed would only get that folder, and I suppose all other files in that folder, synced.

I am very unsure exactly what is going to occur, as you can tell, and am looking for suggestions to correct my understanding and to point the way to accomplishing what I need todo, if it is practical.

    Thank you
