I hate to catch Fred Langa in a mistake, but he did make one in his latest Windows Secrets column. He said that MS Money is no longer available, and some replacement must be found.

Microsoft still has Money Plus Deluxe available. Some of the old online connectivity and functionality is missing, but Microsoft still has it. I’ve been using Money Plus Sunset Deluxe on Windows 8 with great success for over a year, now. I can still connect to my financial institution and export a .ofx file directly into money to update my checkbook.

After I downloaded and installed it, I just imported my .mny file into it, and it was as if I’d never left, and it works just fine in Windows 8. I’ll check my laptop (which has 8.1), I can’t remember if I’ve installed it there. Seems that I have, but I don’t have time at the moment to check.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things.

      Hey Y’all,

I also continue to use the Sunset Edition on both Win 8.1 Pro and Win 7 HP machines w/o problem. The only thing is every month I now have to manually enter my stock closing prices as Money will no longer download them from the web.
