    I have been spammed  in event viewer with event ID 1010  moderndeployment-diagnostics-provider with this error:

    Autopilot.dll WIL error was reported;
    Event ID: 1010
    Source: Microsoft-Windows-ModernDeployment-Diagnostics-Provider

    I have read some solutions, and I have decided to not do anything and for now disable the event log of this event
    also heard that some have crash issues with this error, apparently and fortunately I am not one of those unlucky ones. So I have a question, what makes some PC crashes with that error?
    I dont plan to do anything to fix it  IF my computer doesnt crash. (I plan to fix it with Updates, if everything goes smoothly)

    Just someone who don't want Windows to mess with its computer.

      Hi Zaphyrus:

      I was getting these same errors – see my post # 2507399 in Susan Bradley’s November Updates are Here. I found a few threads in the Microsoft Answers forum about this error and one of the suggested solutions – to clear the data in the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chip – solved the problem for me. See my post # 2540417 in Susan’s thread that has relevant links and a warning about clearing your TPM if you decide to try this, especially if you have BitLocker Disk Encryption enabled on your machine and don’t know your 48-digit BitLocker recovery key. Unfortunately, there are still a few users posting in the MS Answers forum who have reported that clearing their TPM didn’t fix the problem.

      If you have Microsoft’s Feedback Hub app on your computer note that there was a problem report filed in December 2022 by Ludvig C at https://aka.ms/AAjf18k titled “Event 1010, ModernDeployment-Diagnostics-Provider“.  I upvoted that problem report and added my own comments, but I have no idea if Microsoft is even working on a fix for this problem.

      I can’t tell you why some users that have this error logged in their Event Viewer don’t notice any negative effect on their system performance (other than being incredibly annoying, these errors didn’t seem to cause a noticeable problem on my Dell Inspiron 5584) while others believe this constant error logging  causes their system to become unstable. I’ve seen a few people suggest that this error will disappear if you disable the Microsoft Sign-In Assistant service. This is not something I would advise you try, since disabling this service can cause all sorts of problems if you sign in to Windows with your Microsoft Account or use Microsoft services like MS Outlook, etc., but it does suggest that the people who see serious side effects on their computer are likely using a large number of Microsoft programs and services that generate a constant flood of these Autopilot.dll errors.

        I followed your advice and decided to clear the TPM. Since I dont have any obvious issue I won’t do anything but letting Microsoft to fix that error for me….

        Thank you very much for your time and advice
