In Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, the “F” of “File” is underlined and I can access the File menu using Alt-F. But in Excel this underline is missing and I cannot access the menu using the keyboard, which is my preference over the mouse whenever possible. I’ve checked the help menu and the Excel part of MS’ web site without success. How do I underline the “F” of “File” so that I can use the Alt-key shortcut?

      Select Tools | Customize…
      Right-click the File menu.
Insert an ampersand & in front of the word File in the Name box in the popup menu.
      Press Enter.
      Click OK.

      That’s it!

Hans — Many thanks! Once again the “right click” function strikes. If I _ever_ become fully bi-lingual it will be a miracle. I just never think about right-click, since the Mac (my previous platform) doesn’t have that.
        Thanks again.
