My laptop came with Vista (ugh, I know)… I generally follow Susan’s PatchWatch and install what she recommends… Recently, I decided to upgrade IE to the latest version, but it refused to install because it says it needs Vista SP2 — but that’s not in my list of updates. I verified that my OS is running only SP1. From looking around, it seems that SP2 won’t be offered unless critical updates are installed, so I gritted my teeth and installed all of the outstanding critical updates — still no SP2. I’ve received warnings that SP1 support ended last summer — fine; I want to update to SP2, but I’m stuck for ideas. Anyone out there have some ideas? (As I was typing this, I thought that there may be some updates “hidden” — when I next get my hands on the laptop, I will check that)
