    Happy New Year..!! to all.

I have created a database using Access 2003, and when I am on call I take the datafile home with me, but at home I have 2007 version, I normally get a whole list of missing files when I start it up at home, I have managed to find all of them (mainly missing ocx files) accept ‘sgoedit.ocx’. Do any of you clever people know where I can get it…thanks in advance…Steve – Southampton UK.

It appears that file is some sort of third-party add-ins that your database is referencing. Not much shows up on a web search for that name, but there is some suggestion that it may be malware. I would remove the reference in VBA and see of your database behaves normally without it. If it does, I would also get rid of that reference in your 2003 production version. I suspect if you remove it from the production version, all of your references will be updated automatically when you take it to 2007. However you will have to correct them if you ever take the 2007 version back to the production environment.

      Hello to you sir,

thank you very much for taking the time and effort to ascertain what this file was, I went back to work this morning and had another look around our network, and found that SGOedit.ocx is a Saga Accounts file. So all is okay.

Once again thanks very much for your help.

      kind regards
