missing file (xp home)

Hello,

I am trying to help my father in law install a new all in one Lexmark printer. When I am installing the software, the computer is telling me that it is missing the following file: drivers/scan/i386. I have tried all of his cd’s and have not been able to locate this file.

Can anyone help?

Julie,

i386 is usually a folder not a filename, usually within the windows folder itself. It can also be a folder on the installer CD’s., with other drivers required for the printer. First see if you can see what filename it is looking for, then search for it within the i386 folders.
