Missing document

I was in the Microsoft Word open dialogue and selected a file and selected “delete” from the keyboard. I now realize I need that file. It’s not in the recycle bin and nowhere to be found in My Documents (I tried a search). I tried logging off and back on. Still not there. Where could it be?

It’s most likely on your hard drive somwhere waiting to be overwritten.

If you are running Vista or Windows 7 you can right click the folder in which the document was stored and select “Restore Previous Version”. Select either “Copy” or “Restore”.

NOTE: “Restore” completely replaces the contents with the previous version. You may be better off using “COPY” then find the document move it back to the original location and delete the rest of the copies.
