Missing bookmark.htm

I am running IE 11 on Win 8.1. Recently I had to do a system restore. In the process the bookmark.htm file disappeared. Now I can not open the favorites file under C:windowsusers{my name}favorites; neither can I save any url to favorites. I used the search charm to look for bookmark.htm with no results. When I try to import favorites, I can’t because windows can’t find the bookmark.htm file. I tried copying the favorites file I saved to a thumb drive, but windows won’t recognize the folder C:windowsusers{my name}favorites. I also tried copying and pasting the favorites folder from another Win 8.1 computer with the same results – windows won’t recognize it.

How can I create or restore the bookmark.htm?

Normally at C:users{my name}favorites (no “windows” in the path).

My bad. Favorites are located in c:users{my name}usersfavorites. Microsoft Fix It has no posts dealing w/bookmark.htm

Thanks. Now how I get windows to recognize favorites I have stored in C:UsersDocuments?

Since you know the filename, an excellent FAST & FREE file searcher program is Search Everything from http://www.voidtools.com. It seems to locate stuff for me that the WinExpl search function misses. Does not search contents of files, just paths & filenames (or any portion thereof).
