Scratching my head over this one, so wondered if anyone else has any suggestions help
    – had VSS installed with the VSS repository local to my laptop
    – any guy starts so need to move the repository to a network server
    – read the doc’s, which seemed to say all that’s needed is to move the folders, and changes the srcsafe.ini [data] entry to point at the new location using UNC
    – did that and seemed to work fine, I could use VSS Source Explorer to add files in, and another machine could pull them out
    – also could create a database from VSS

Installed VSS on his PC, installed the XP Developer VSS add-in for Access
    – can create a database from VSS Ok
    – can amend Access objects and check them in
    – but can’t add a new database to VSS. The item “Add database” is there, it starts, creates the project in VSS, but nothing is added. And if I compact the database, there isn’t the usual “Do you want to remove from VSS” dialog
    – even worse, went back to my laptop and found I have the same problem frown

Now I’m sure people have VSS on a server, but does anyone have Access database in there question
Or is there something else I need to do to get the “Add object” option question

Out VSS is on a server (Win 2k server) and 4 of us it it to work with both Access 97 and Access XP versions of our applications. I actually saw a similar behavior once, but I realized then that I did not have the database open that I wanted to add as a project, so VSS created an empty project. Once I deleted that VSS project and any SCC folder in the directory where the database lived and then opened the database I wanted to add to VSS, it worked as expected. Can you give more details about the steps you took?

Charlotte, I think I’ve tracked down the cause
        – upgrade to VSS 6.0d as part of VS.NET 2003
        – I uninstalled 6.0d, re-installed 6.0b from my Office XP Developer, then the VSS SP6 to get it back to 6.0c and I’m glad to say Add Objects is back clapping

Did some poking on microsoft newsgroups and found a couple of messages on the topic, so other people have been bitten frown
but nothing from any Microsoft person on a likely fix
