I have an Excel chart which I want to insert into a Word doc. No problem there. However, the chart has added lines and Word Art for emphasis and try as I might I cannot get the chart and the added graphics to print. Print preview shows a perfect result. Reality differs somewhat – after several attempts I get the graphics shifted down and to the right of the chart and over other text. I am printing to an HP deskjet 810 C on an intranet and with the latest drivers installed. The same chart prints fine on the old b&w laser but I need colour.

Printing the chart direct from XL turns up the same result. I am tempted to conclude that this might be a printer problem.

    Any clues or suggestions. TIA.

      Hi Brian:
I don’t know the answer, but I know that there can sometimes be problems when the anchor for a floating graphic is inside a table. I don’t know if that’s the case, but you might make sure the show/hide button is set to show & make sure the anchor is outside any table.

Thanks for the suggestion. I must admit to being a novice when it comes to anchors. Normally things go and stay where I want them so I don’t worry too much. On this occasion there was a table close by to the embedded chart but the anchor was not inside and removing the table gave the same result. Strange that it prints as it should on the laser printer though!
