We are having an issue with creating mirror margins in a report (requested by client). The are asking that each text page shall have a 1 ยฝ-inch mirror margin to allow for
binding and a 1-inch margin on all other sides.

First – I understand the concept of mirror margins, but having never used that feature, I’m just experimenting. I think I’ve got it figured out that I need to put the 1.5 inch margin on the “inside.” The problem I’m having is with landscape pages. The “inside” automatically switches to the correct orientation, but the headers and footers stay in the same location. What do I need to do to get the header or footer to shift so that it prints with the correct 1.5 inch margin?

Maybe you could try setting the “From edge: Header” value to 1.5 inches in the Layout tab of the Word 2007 Page Setup dialog?

I found the following Word MVP response to a question that sounded a lot like yours: You have to fake mirror margins in landscape pages as follows. On the Layout tab of Page Setup, check “Different odd and even” for headers and footers. Be aware that this will affect your entire document, so you’ll need to duplicate your header/footer (now the Odd Page Header/Footer) in the Even Page Header/Footer). Then, since you want larger “inside” margins, add extra space (using Spacing Above/Below) to the Odd Page Header and Even Page Footer paragraphs.
