    Does anyone use this software?
    http://www.mikogo.com/
Does anyone know if it’s safe to use?

I often have to help out a not so PC literate friend resolve problems on his machine.
I wind up driving to his house which is sometimes inconvenient.
Often for such small problems that I get frustrated.
I want to use mikogo to, at least, view his machine from my home.
    thx.

From what I just read on the web page of mikogo, you can only see the remote computer, not interact with it. If you want to help your friend, you may be better with a tool like http://www.realvnc.com/products/download.html which allows you to use your keyboard and mouse to control the remote computer. I am using it with friends and my parents and it works great! If your friend has a router and he is behind it, you may need a second free product https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/ to establish a private virtual network and then you can use realvnc to access the remote computer.

I was obliged to use it yesterday having developed an issue with our accounts software and the support guy used it to see exactly what was going wrong. They are probably the biggest in their sector in this country (Sage if anyone is interested ) and I can’t envisage them using something that wasn’t safe or expedient to use. It was certainly painless to log in and use – but they may have a paid account for easier access.

      Hi Leif,
Yes, you would think that a large company would want to use a secure piece of SW within their systems.
Nice to hear that is was easy to use as well.
The Products tab shows only one product and it states Why it’s Free for both individuals and businesses.
And I see that they do have a more robust product that they do sell for business use.
I think I’ll have to try it and see.
      thx.
