I have a friend who is trying to SAVE a midi file from the internet – when he right clicks and chooses SAVE TARGET AS, he is not given the option to save it as a MIDI file – he is given the option of a MEDIA CLIP or ALL FILES. Then when he tries to play the file he has saved, he gets an error message saying “MMSYSTEM281. This file could not be played. Check the filename or install a driver that supports this type of file.”

    HELP!!!

I believe the file type only governs what is displayed in the box, and not the format of the clip. Have your friend add the expected .mid (I think) extension to the file name and, for good measure, put the whole thing in quotation marks:

      “whatever.mid”

With any luck at all, this will override whatever IE is doing to the file.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
