Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for May, 2005 has just been announced.

Specifically Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-024 is of interest to Windows 2000 (and earlier) users as a vulnerability in web view could allow remote code execution.

I tried downloading and installing this update on both of my Win2000 machines yesterday. I used Windows Update. Both installations failed, even with my antiivirus program disabled. What worked for me, in both cases, was to manually download the patch from the Windows Download Center. Anyway, should you run into a similar situation, get the patch from the Download Center, and install it manually.
