I have started working with my laptop in a new environment where they use an old version of Exchange for internal email. Other users who use Win XP like me have no trouble sending and receiving email, but they are still using Outlook 97 running under Win XP.
I have Office XP under Win XP, and cannot send or receive.
I tried installing the Exchange .exe file that they use (I guess it’s from Win98), and with that I can send and receive, as long as there are no attachments. As soon as I preview or open a message that has an attachment, Outlook freezes.

    Hoping,…

Are there any error messages? Do you have local admin rights on the PC?
