Ever since i upgraded from 03 to 10, i started gettting these annoying errors. Now I was sure it was a version control thing that i was experiencing because my sheets were created in 03 under an .xls. So i saved my files as .xlsm and i’m still getting the errors. annoying because i’m so using to CTRL-C and CTRL-V and i can’t do that between these files. is there a blanket fix that i can do?

      Christine:

I had a similar problem with Excel 2003 going from Workbook to Workbook.

I was given a great solution from another Forum so I take zero credit

Try the following VBA code before you open the workbooks, ” Application.EnableEvents = False”
Then try the copy and paste.

But remember once you have completed all your copy and paste to run the VBA Code Application.EnableEvents = True

The only othe solution is to start excel with no add-ins and see if you can copy and paste. If yes, activate each add-in until the problem occurs, which will identify the add-in. Then disable that add-in when you need to copy and paste between workbooks.

Hope the above is some assistance.

When you first save a workbook in the new 2007 (and later) format from an xls, it remains in compatibility mode until you close and reopen it. Perhaps that is the cause of the problem?
