Even if you go straight to Windows 11, version 24H2 known issues and notifications | Microsoft Learn there are no real details about which fingerprint sensors and which wallpaper applications are the culprits. If you use Windows Update to get 24H2 you are dependent on Microsoft judging that your PC is ready for it. If you choose to use the ISO you are in control.

Before beginning the upgrade process be sure to make an image backup of your system.
