Those awards are for the whole of 2021. Interesting that the latest tests they did in November and December 2021 show pretty much perfect results for Defender (which is what I’m currently intending to use when BitDefender Free stops being free later this year).

I have been using Defender with Malwarebytes Premium which expires in 2 weeks. I am not going to renew my subscription.  Is anyone using Defender + another A/V? (I know MBAM worked well with Defender, but I am unhappy with the company for a number of reasons and no longer wish to continue my subscription).  Is there a need to run anything else aside from Defender? I was thinking that + some standalone scanners, e.g superantispyware and one of the others out there – I don’t know ! I’m open to suggestions, thanks! Donna

You should not run more than one real-time a/v product. Malwarebytes is the exception.

I run Defender only for a real-time scanner. Then at least monthly I run a full scan with the free version of Malwarebytes. Then I run another third-party online scan. Usually, that is ESET but sometimes I find something else. That gives me three different opinions and I’ve never had a malware issue.

See thread regarding whether to use Kaspersky in light of Russian attacks on Ukraine 😉

Microsoft Defender Home failed AV-TEST best anti-virus 2021

That is a seriously misleading title.
      There is no Defender Home.
      It did not fail anything.
      It scored “best corporate”.

3 out of 10, Alex must do better.  🙂

      cheers, Paul

Microsoft Defender for home users vs Corporate. It is not the same.
