• Messenger Service? (IE6)

I am at a loss to understand what is happening and I hope fellow loungers can help me.

On my home pc, I have IE6, use Tiscali as my ISP (free service that came with Gateway)and homepage. I use the Google toolbar for searching. I keep my anti-virus updated and have never subscribed to any sort of messager service like MS Messager or Tiscali Chat etc. But each time I am on-line I keep getting a pop-up type dialogue box that says Messanger Service and there is usually some blurb telling me that their name is juanita and are looking for Hot Guys and I should check out their website, and there is the linked address.

I have used Spybot and definitely did a search and destroy, yet everytime I go on-line here comes the messager service again. I must add that the dialogue box does not look like the one the MS Messenger uses or Tiscali, but then again, I could be mistaken.

Can someone enlighten me and advise me on how to stop this sort of nonsense. (I have downloaded the free version of Adaware and will be installing it later this week.)

      This thread should enlighten you.
It appears your only preventative action is to stop the Messenger Service running on your machine. If you need help with that, post back with your operating system.
