Message Rule for CC or BCC? (OE 6, Win XP Pro)

I want to create a message rule that will automatically either CC or Bcc all messages I write to a certain address. I can do this easily with the message rules in Outlook, but I now need to do it Outlook Express. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished in OE?

You can’t actually set up a rule to work on outgoing messages, but you can do a sort of workaround …

Set up a rule that says if the message is addressed to the certain address involved, forward it to the cc/bcc address required (then put it last on the list and make sure all earlier rules have ‘stop processing more rules’ ticked, or life might get complicated). Then once a day/week/month or whatever, call up the rules creation box and manually run this rule on the contents of your outgoing emails folder. Then file the contents of the folder so that next time you run it, it doesn’t run again on the same messages.

Actually, I apparently wasn’t totally clear in my question. I want to cc every single message I write – no matter who it is to – to a certain address (myself, actually, because I use three different computers for emailing and that way one of them – on which this rule would NOT run – eventually has a copy of everything – works great in Outlook, as I mentioned).

I think I could use your workaround if I run the rule on all messages which are FROM me. I’d have to run it every day when I was working on either of the two remote computers, but that could work. Still requires me to remember to do it (unlike the Outlook rule) but with your approach I’d have to remember only once a day instead of every time I write a message. I will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.
