I am trying to do a mail merge that includes an image that I have in an access database. However, I get a message that reads “Long binary or text value”, instead of the image. Is there anyway to merge an image into Microsfot Word from Access?

    Thanks

May I ask why you’re trying to do this? Storing images in Access is a bad idea in the first place, but if you have them stored, an Access report would be easier to deal with than attempting a Word mail merge of images. Maybe if you explain the background, someone will be able to help.

I suspected that storing images in Access wasn’t the best approach, but I don’t have any other choice. The Images are tiny (they are toolbar button faces) and there are only a few of them.

My situation is that I am writing some test scripts for an application and there will be six different versions of the script, and about 80% of the content will be the same across all versions. With version one of the application I had six different Word documents, which meant I had to update all six documents when an error was found in the script. With this version, I am storing everything in Access and merging it into Word. Everything is going as planned except for the toolbar image.

The reason that an Access report will not work is because the testers will be providing feedback directly on the test script.

      Thanks,
