Good day, I have a user who has a problem doing a merge from an Access database. She is now running Office XP, however, at the time the database and primary document were created she was using Office 97. The file has been used once a year for a number of years. This time when she merged her files, all of her currency fields from Access appear without currency formatting. In Access the currency formatting is present on the tables and queries. It worked just fine last year. Suggestions on what to do now would be appreciated. Thanks, Judy

I know it seems you shouldn’t have to resort to this, but the quickest solution is to modify your main document field to include a currency format. This isn’t a problem I’ve heard of, but quite frankly IMHO, the beta for Office XP was not tested much outside of MS and quite a few things like this crept in. One other possibility – if your users doesn’t have SP1 for XP, that might include a fix.

Thanks Wendell, your solution really was the right one although SP-1 didin’t make any difference. I got online Microsoft help on this issue and they referred me to a Knowledge Base solution on this issue. It is Q304387. They told me it didn’t work correct in Word 97 either, but I have to beg to differ with them because it worked just fine on the same files in previous years using Office 97. Thanks for your help, Judy
