My previous posting was inacurate. The error I keep receiving is particularly with ICQ and Explorer (other programs as well) and reads as follows:
“ICQ (or whatever) has caused an error in GDI.EXE and ‘program’ will close. thne if I click on close I get the white screen with ‘close- ignore’ and no matter what I have to close and often have to reboot
HELP Please!!

That type of error (gdi.exe) is often the result of video driver problems. Have you hecked to see if there is an updated driver for your video card available for ME, it might help to upgrade it.
