    I constantly get the following response after running for a few minutes and it matters not whether i am or am not connected to the internet.”Explorer has caused an exception in the GDI.EXE and will close” or i get a white screen with the same massage and ‘ognore’ or close’ . Can anyone offer some advice or help? i have reinstalled milennium umteen times !!

      GDI refers to your video card or its software drivers. GDI.exe errors are usually related to your video card but can occur with any other bad device driver.

      One step is to upgrade your video drivers. If the problem persists, try upgrading other drivers (soundcard, other devices).

        Ouch….this is really ugly. GDI.EXE is one of the main Windows EXEs – it’s the part of Windows that paints the icons and everything else. It could be a video driver, very likely, but it could be worse. If the dialog box you are getting is white with black text, it may be:

        a) lack of system RAM – how much are you running?
        an old 16 bit program that is dying
        c) a program with a memory leak or a problem with Windows

        When does the error occur?
