Maximum number of autotext entries per template (Word XP)

Hi Folks
Any comments on the storage of autotext entries in a ‘global’ template (other than nornal) as opposed to going to a database would be appreciated.
I see that M/soft claim that the theoretical limit is limited by memory. What is the practical limit ? Does anybody know ?
The situation I face is that of a legal firm . …. enough said.
I would love to store all these passages in a database but I had better be sure of my facts ..

I’ve successfully used a global template with hundreds of autotext entries — 32MB file limit allows LOTS of autotext.

The advantage of a Word template over a database is automatic rich text support. I guess databases that permit binary object (BLOB) fields could support rich text snippets, but I’ve never tried it. On the other hand, databases are well suited to categorization and multiple indexes (indices, if one prefers), so if you are creating a document assembly system, you can use both the database and the template together to maximize their respective competencies.

As Jefferson mentions, there are different strategies that may be better suited to different requirements. In your situation, what are the large number of autotexts required for?
