I need some type of mathematical notation capabilities, for example to prepare Algebra exams, using Word. Is there some software add-in available?

Do you have MS Equation Editor? Info on its use is on Word’s Help key. blushI admit I have never used it, so can’t speak for how easy/difficult it is to use.

or use the field codes (Insert ==> Field ==> Equations and Formulas, e.g. the EQ field name), which has a lot of associated Help. This will be OK for a run-off-the-mill integer.

If your needs are sophisticated, you may look at Design Science’s MathType 4.

Try the examples in the attached document.

These aren’t bad examples, but I’d like to point out a few errors
