Kevin Beaumont’s “major Windows 11 issue” was a BIOS issue which he corrected almost immediately; “Got it running by tinkering with BIOS.” Not a Windows 11 issue at all.

I often wonder how many problems which apparently arise just after installing Windows updates are actually caused by it just being the first time the computer has been restarted in weeks.

After installing this update, some .NET Framework 3.5 apps might have issues or might fail to open….You can mitigate this issue by re-enabling .NET Framework 3.5 and the Windows Communication Foundation in Windows Features.

After installing this update, IE mode tabs in Microsoft Edge might stop responding when a site displays a modal dialog box…..This issue is resolved using Known Issue Rollback (KIR).

This security update addresses an issue where the .NET Framework releases June 14, 2022-Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5 for Windows 8.1, RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 (KB5013638) and Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5 for Windows 8.1, RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 (KB5012139) were not cumulative and did not contain some previously released security updates.  This security update includes all previous released security updates.  There are no new security improvements being released in this update.

 

Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 are getting a revised .net security update. (Missed this the other day)
