I have MBAM Pro Version scheduled to scan at 9:00 AM and it always scans about 12:00 PM..

The schedule I have is in the settings but it always scans about 12:00 PM and never at 9 am like I have it scheduled to scan…

It used to scan on schedule and somewhere along the line it stopped and went to the 12:00 PM scan.

I do a lot of streaming during the day which is pretty CPU intensive and with MBAM scanning at that time it peaks out my processor at 100% if I am streaming at that time.

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it??
    Thanks.

I suppose the obvious way to fix it would be to cancel the scheduled scans and just do them prior to shutdown, but you could check to see if resetting to default settings on the General Settings page and then set up the schedule again will do it – I take it that your computer clock is set to the correct time zone ?

Resetting the general settings doesn’t reset the scheduled scans.
It only resets the options on that screen.

My clock is set right and I want to use scheduled scans, not do them manually.

I appreciate your advice but I don’t want to do work arounds, I want it to work the way it always has worked until recently.

        me too

this new version is buggy at worst
        and annoying at best

what were they thinking with these changes?

i want to control what it does again

When a program becomes buggy then a clean reinstall is usually the best option https://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/25291497-How-do-I-uninstall-Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware-

Had you downloaded anything prior to it changing its time schedule ?

    • #1455850

I was trying to avoid that but I also see others are having the same problem with the latest version.

I just re-did the schedules so I will wait until tomorrow to see if that fixed it and if not I will re-install it..

      Thanks

It sounds like there’s a bug in the version.

Reporting and checking to see if tech support know of it and have found a solution could be the way to go by submitting a ticket at http://www.malwarebytes.org/support/

    • #1455863

Well, from what I have read so far it seems something went sour in the last update..

I’ll wait until tomorrow to see if it is better and if not I will use their un-installer and install it again…

      • #1455864

Was that the version update or the Definitions update ?

      • #1455954

Well, from what I have read so far it seems something went sour in the last update.

It was this type of update that I was wanting you to clarify.

How did it perform at 09.00 this morning ?

    • #1455944

Sudo, I have no idea what you mean..

Sudo, I have no idea what you mean..

Since v2 was released, I believe it has had a couple of updates (version updates) so that it is now v2.0.2.1012, but prior to scanning the Definitions may need to be updated so that it can keep on top of new threats.

    • #1455951

      I have the latest version.

    • #1455960

Yes, from what I have read that’s what happened.
I read that on their support forum.

I’ll wait until they fix it because un-installing it and re-installing will do nothing if the problem lies in the program.

    • #1455964

      Yes, agreed.

    • #1456091

Well, after deleting the schedules and creating new ones it seems to be checking for signature updates on schedule and updating when necessary.

It also scanned at 9 am like I scheduled it for.

Maybe the new program wasn’t recognizing the update and scan schedule from the previous version..

Who knows, I will watch it for the next few days and see if it sticks to my schedule setting.

God, this stuff can drive you nuts!

    • #1456112

If it behaves itself then you can post on the MBAM forum and tell them how to fix it 🙂

Perhaps a reinstall would have done it after all if this works out ?

    • #1456115

Nah, I’m not gonna do that because everyone’s problem is unique.

They know there’s a problem and will fix it soon enough.

Besides, I still want to watch it for a few days and see how it behaves.

You’re input is interesting and appreciated.

    • #1456121

      Thanks.

It will be interesting to see who gets there first – you or MBAM 🙂

    • #1456172

Honestly, who really gives a crap!

It could be for those who are still waiting for a fix from MBAM if for some, your procedure resolves and it wasn’t down to a bad update.

I was not happy when without warning malwarebyties downloaded the new version 2 program, having paid for premium usage was unhappy to workout the program wouldn’t download any bases unless i paid money…errr
Is now off my computer and am back using SpyBot

    • #1456301

Well, as usual they just don’t leave well enough alone.
As soon as you get comfortable with the user interface they go and change it so you have to start all over again figuring things out.

I think they hire ex Microsoft..They have always been good at screwing things up!

Mine seems to be working O.K. now.

I’m sure with all the complaints they are working on a fix and should release it pretty soon.

    • #1456388

I cannot check on my PC because I reverted to the earlier version because V2 does not run using Command lines.

I suggest looking in the Win Task Scheduler to see if there is one or more entries for mbam.

      • #1456425

The reasons above and others listed @ MBAM were enough for me to revert back to v1.75, (the longest running version) which hopefully was replaced just to implement the buggy (in my case) new U.I. and other “Improvements” and not some hidden security concerns.
