Clearly you’re not expected to use Microsoft software as tools for critical business tasks.

I imagine they expect you to code a new App for what you’re wanting to do.

“Microsoft, much to its credit, has acknowledged the problem…”

It’s a sad statement that past Microsoft behavior has driven expectations so low that acknowledgement of a problem has now become praiseworthy.

“the problem started on Oct. 4 with the release of CtR 7369.3024. The bug continued in 7369.3028”

These version numbers should read 2034 and 2038.

If L. Phillips would write his program to work both with Excel and with Libre Office’s spreadsheet program, his customers could begin to switch over to Libre Office and abandon Microsoft Office.

If enough programs were written both for MS Office and for Libre Office, we could see a lot of people make the switch.

At some point we would reach the tipping point – MS Office would no longer be dominant. People would then look around at all that is available, rather than going with MS Office by default.
