We have an email mailshot we want to send to our customers (with their approval I hasten to add!!). The actual HTML text is is about 45kb. However when we add our 300 email addresses this goes through the roof.

Can anyone suggest (other than sending 300 separate emails) how we can not upset our customers?

    Thanks

    Roberta

Do you put the addresses of the 300 customers in the Bcc: box, rather than the To: or Cc: box?

I presume you do already, because that prevents everyone from seeing everyone else’s email address! A side effect may be to reduce the amount of superfluous data send to each customer. It would be interesting to know if this is the case…

Yes we do go down the BCC route – but we still get the bloat! Thanks anyway

Are you seeing the bloat in “Sent Items” or in the final resulting messages? The mail server should not include the BCC bloat in the messages it is delivering, because that field is not passed along to the recipients. At least, that’s how it is supposed to work…

If John Gray’s advice doesn’t meet your needs, you could also try a Mail Merge to E-Mail with the selected Contacts – see Outlook Help.

I will have a go with the mail merge option. Thanks

If you need to do this very often, I would look into a “Remail” service, where all you would do is send out to the one address the the service would send out the others.
