Hello all,

Anyone ever encounter the following error after upgrading from Office 2000 to Office 2003?
Problem with Shortcut
The drive or network connection that the shortcut ‘Shortcut to MailBoxLabels.lnk’ refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again.
We get this error on Outlook 2003 and Word 2003 launch, and we get it two times upon launch of either application. Once the error box is retired the, applications run correctly.

Any thoughts?

Thanks so much,
Rich

A shortcut to a shortcut, eh? It sounds like a problem with a Word add-in (I assume that you use Word as e-mail editor, hence the error message in Outlook too).
Take a look at Phil Rabichow’s Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word.

Hans,

We tried the suggestions in Phil’s post, and sadly, we have no joy in mudville! brickwall

Any other ideas! this is the first time we’ve encountered this error!

G’Day,
Rich

Does the problem occur even if you start Word with the /a switch?

I don’t have the slightest idea what MailBoxLabels refers to, a Google search doesn’t return anything. You might do a search on your hard disk for files with MailBoxLabels in the name.
