Mail Merge up the wazoo

A peculiar occurrence, especially considering that I haven’t used Mail Merge on this system (WinME, Office 2000): Clicking on Tools shows 15 (!) entries for Mail Merge. One one will expand to options (document type, data source, etc.) although the others (at least 3 that I bothered checking) appear to be active, showing me a window with the Mail Merge Helper. Any explanations/solutions? Thanks in advance.
