I would like to create a mail list in word using an outlook distribution list, but only the distribution list name appears rather than the names in the list.

Could someone please explain how to do this…Susan

Unfortunately, Word has no native capability for using distribution lists in mail merge. There may be an add-in that adds this capability, see if you can find something inMail Tools for Microsoft Outlook.

Hi Hans..You can click on the phone book and select a distribution list when you select envelopes & mail labels, but it does not expand the list of names. Someone here said it worked in word 2000.

Are you aware of this? Susan

Oops, my bad. I misread your question and thought you meant a mail merge. Sorry about that.

But there seems to be no way to use distribution lists for mailing labels either. Perhaps Mailmerge from Outlook offers an alternative.
