Ok…I have a spreadsheet that was designed by a staff member who is not longer here. I need some help. This are some macros and VB code in the background that runs a Vlookup and Hlookup automatically based on today’s date. If I open the spreadsheet straight from the drive….I get incorrect information.. If I open the spreadsheet from a shortcut on the desktop….it works without any problems. WHY?

We’d have to see the workbook, or at least the code, I’m afraid.

Are they opening the same spreadsheet?

YES…just two different way to get into it.

          1. Is Excel running prior to the workbiook being opened? In both cases?
          2. Further to Steve’s question; I would not rest easy until I had run the following command in the VBE Immediate window for both instances. Too often I have been caught with what I believed to be a single file, only to find a slight difference when seeing the two pathnames, one immediately above the other.

          ?ActiveWorkbook.FullName
