    Have you heard of anyone have problems with word macros changing the normal.dot?

      Yes, such problems have been reported, but could you provide some details?

      If you mean Word macro viruses, they are a lot less common than they used to be, but some of them are still out there. This is why most people recommend ticking the box under Tools>Options…, General tab, to notify you of changes to Normal.dot before saving those changes. On the other hand, Normal.dot will be changed if (1) you create a macro (and don’t specifically save it somewhere else); (2) you create an AutoText entry (and don’t specifically save it somewhere else); (3) you create a formatted AutoCorrect entry; (4) you change a style defined in Normal.dot; (5) you customize a toolbar generated by Normal.dot; and probably in many other ways. So… it would be helpful to know why you are asking this question. smile
